Okay, admittedly I am what would be considered a Star Wars geek. This is a fun game for anyone who enjoys Star Wars. I don’t think some would find it fun if they don’t know anything about Star Wars but I believe that’s got to be hard to find — someone who knows NOTHING about Star Wars.

I could play for hours, days…even by myself. I know it’s a sickness but who doesn’t have something “geeky” in their secret closet?

I thought I was a Star Wars fan from way back…I remember seeing the trilogy in high school. When it came out on video, I introduced my kids to it. They fell in love with it, too, especially my son. So I thought this game would be a fun summer time-filler, especially on rainy days. They love it. The game pieces are especially unique; pewter figures of main characters. I was amazed at the tiny details that my kids remembered from the movies, from Yoda’s last word (“Skywalker”) to the color of the glove Luke wore to cover his replaced hand (black). I’m not sure how much educational value there is to this, it’s just fun to see what you remember.

We’re big star Wars fans at my house, so this seemed like a perfect game. I was expecting it to be pretty much like the regular trivial pursuit, but there were some differences. I really liked the way they had special holders for your “pie” pieces. It’s easy to get them in crooked or sideways on the round pie holders, and hard to get them unstuck. This game’s design worked much better. The questions were about the same difficulty level. Some were extremely easy, some ridiculously hard, most somewhere in the middle. Most were from the original trilogy, with a few from Episode 1.

The main diffence was that there are no dice. Instead, there’s a little R2-D2. You push a button on his “head” and that randomly selects a number from 1-6. That’s cool, but it also makes little chirping sounds like the real R2-D2, which was not very cool after about 6 turns. We gave up a found some regular dice.

Still, if your family likes both games and Star Wars, this would be lots of fun.

Even diehard “Star Wars” fans will be challenged by some of these questions! The only bad thing is the annoyance you’ll get from friends, who will drag it out with the big smirks and “Okay, now we’re going to find out just how much you really know about “Star Wars”….”

I got this game at a great deal, and was still surprised at the bargain. It’s difficult to find other card sets when you’ve completed your board set, so when I find one, I try to get it.

I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, so I don’t know a lot of the detailed questions. But it’s still a fun family game, and a terrific Saturday night activity (just add pizza) for when you want to get away from the TV.

The game pieces are quite intricate and the R2D2 random number generator is a hoot. My only complaint is that there are only four game pieces and there is no die to substitute for the sometimes-annoying R2 beeps. But you can just take those pieces from another game set. (I particularly like to use the card-holder from the Millennium Edition). All in all, great fun, but I wouldn’t pay full price for it, even if it is a collectable.
