We bought this for our five year old and he loves it. It follows pretty closely to the movie and that’s why we bought it.

The New Padawan (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Our son is 9yrs. old and an advanced reader. He is really enjoying Star Wars: The Clone Wars, (series) published by Grosset&Dunlap. The other published books on this theme are either too young or too old for my son’s liking anyway.

Review by The Delite Rancher for The New Padawan (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)

“The New Padawan” retells a chapter from “the Clone Wars” film. Specifically, this is a print retelling of the Battle of Christophsis. Newscast style, the prologue updates the audience with respects to the war. The first chapter begins with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi discussing the impending droid invasion on their positions. Anakin soon gets his new Padawan, Ahsoka Tano. While their relationship is less than choice, the two bond while attempting to destroy the enemy’s shield generators. Eric Stevens’ adaptation is good for most third or fourth grade readers. At forty-seven pages and filled with illustrations, this is ideal for readers who are breaking into easy chapter books. The attractive illustrations were all lifted from the film. A front-end glossary orients the reader to the in-galaxy terms. While this book is written by an omniscient narrator, readers interested in this story as told from Ashsoka’s point-of-view should read “Meet Ahsoka Tano.” Packed with action, “The New Padawan” is sure to be a high interest read for Padawan readers.

Another extraction of the cartoon series. However, it is not done very well since Master Yoda could have clearly provided this information prior to her showing up and not portraying Anakin as a spoiled brat. Graphics and dialogue average and some what trite. Clearly written for 8-10 year old kids.
