Also, like many collectors, I’ve always wondered what figures/playsets/vehicles would have comprised a 3rd wave from the first film, Possibilities: Luke Ceremonial, Evazan, Han and Luke Stormtrooper, Tarkin, Tatooine Stormtrooper, Rebel Trooper, TIE Pilot, Sandcrawler Droid, Bo Shek, a Y-Wing, Yavin Base, Blockade Runner, etc.

Some of these figures leave much to be desired, especially in their likenesses, but I still love the 2nd wave of Kenner figures.

Yes these ads were from the US. I remember watching them when I was a kid. This was about the same time when the Kenner factories couldn’t keep up with the demand for star wars toys and you had to wait 6 months for yours top get mailed.

I still have all my collection in the loft somewhere. Are these ads from the US? dont recall seeing them in the UK

I’d love to see how Kenner’s cantina figures would have looked if they had had more time and better reference photos. I love all the vintage figures but Greedo and Walrus Man, in particular, aren’t even close to their film likenesses (outfit-wise). I also wish Kenner had the time for a third SW wave of figures so they could have taken a shot at Evazan, Bo Shek, and a couple of others.

the rope is a grappiling hook

He uses the grapple in the movie to climb a cliff I think.

hey, his chin is supposed to have that kind of pink flesh paint on his chin right, mine does, and so does yours and a few other guys on youtube

The string is used as a grapple hook and that small piece is used as a handle for Captain Rex.
