@WKRPinCINN I know, shocking isn’t it. Palitoy’s head factory was in Coalville which is inbetween where I live and Leicester city centre. Believe it or not, Star Wars figures hit an all time low after jedi and although there was the Droids and Ewoks cartoons, Star Wars didn’t begin to reach it’s height until the mid 90′s, that’s when the prices began to rocket. At the school, children had pockets bursting with Star Wars figures.

@MrMarkzilla – threw them in a “tip” ?

Reading this wil shock die hard Star Wars fans. Ever wondered what Palitoy did to the figures that didn’t sell during 1985? They threw them on a tip close to where I live, soon after our school was flooded with so many Star Wars figures, the teachers banned everything Star Wars. The kids were trading them. Most of the figures were common stormtroopers and droids but sometimes you’d see a Han Solo or a Leia. Never knew of any vehicles being traded.

Somewhere down the line, during the production of the 4-LOM and Zuckuss action figures back in the early 80′s, there was a mistake in printing. The result was 4-LOM was called Zuckuss and Zuckuss was called 4-LOM. The expanded universe corrected it (and confused a bunch of us in the process) some time in the late 90′s. I still call them by the names they were originally given (misprint aside) back in the early 80′s.
