In a galaxy far, far away, a psychopathic emperor and his most trusted servant – a former Jedi Knight known as Darth Vader – are ruling a universe with fear. They have built a horrifying weapon known as the Death Star, a giant battle station capable of annihilating a world in less than a second. When the Death Star’s master plans are captured by the fledgling Rebel Alliance, Vader starts a pursuit of the ship carrying them. A young dissident Senator, Leia Organa, is aboard the ship & puts the plans into a maintenance robot named R2-D2. Although she is captured, the Death Star plans cannot be found, as R2 & his companion, a tall robot named C-3PO, have escaped to the desert world of Tatooine below. Through a series of mishaps, the robots end up in the hands of a farm boy named Luke Skywalker, who lives with his Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru. Owen & Beru are viciously murdered by the Empire’s stormtroopers who are trying to recover the plans, and Luke & the robots meet with former Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi to try to return the plans to Leia Organa’s home, Alderaan. After contracting a pilot named Han Solo & his Wookiee companion Chewbacca, they escape an Imperial blockade. But when they reach Alderaan’s coordinates, they find it destroyed – by the Death Star. They soon find themselves caught in a tractor beam & pulled into the Death Star. Although they rescue Leia Organa from the Death Star after a series of narrow escapes, Kenobi becomes one with the Force after being killed by …

The one thing that lacked on the previous N64 Star Wars Rogue Squadron (and N64 sequel, Battle for Naboo) where the capital ships, I assume due to technical limitations. So this mission was very special to me. Sure, I had already done tons of attack runs on Star Destroyers on PC’s X-Wing and Tie Fighter (classics!) but the Star Destroyers (and the rebel capital ships) where just so amazingly more detailed, that they made me drop my jaw. By the way, unlike what this video may be perceived, this is nowhere as easy as it seems. I usually loose 1 or even 2 lives to finish this mission on a X-Wing. Mirror at: videos.sapo.pt

They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. They don’t make movies like this, they don’t make actors like this, they don’t make screenplays like this, they don’t make music scores like this, anymore, and it’s a DAMN SHAME!!!!

You have to remember that back in the 70′s, these types of trailers were pretty standard.
June 13, 2010

June 13, 2010

Nice Trailer, I love this movie!
June 13, 2010
you can just crash into the command deck once the shield gens are down. you wont lose a life because it will immediately flash to the mission end cut scene lolol. saves some time.
June 13, 2010
they don’t need to use the expansion pack for a virtual console release, wii has more than enough ram to emulate it, the problem is probably in the licensing because factor 5 is suposedly defunct now and maybe also in the code (rogue leader used a special microcode)
June 13, 2010
i loved this game, the graphics surpassed that time, gameplay was amazing and realistic, it is in my mind one of the world’s greatest flight sims
June 13, 2010

June 13, 2010
@HelmutVillam i’m glad i wasn’t the only one who thought that…
June 13, 2010
Wouldn’t it be awesome if they released a game like this to play on xbox live
June 14, 2010
It’s PC?
June 14, 2010
And yet Luke Skywalker destroyed the Death Star with one X-Wing.
June 14, 2010
I remember that i could fly directly into the bridge kamikaze style and it would go straight to the cutscene, and it wouldn’t register as a death.
June 14, 2010
They are both shield generators and sensor domes
June 14, 2010
dont be a noob u pleb starwars battlefront isnt the same and btw its a solar ionization reacter not a sheild or sensor reacter i originaly thought it was tractor beam stuff but nope i was wrong too lol btw the starwasr games that lucas has produced are realy realy dont make sence to the storyline of the films like swb
June 14, 2010
lol they messed up with the razor
it was still up flying while the SD was falling
and attacking star destroyers is so fun with d-vaders tie fighter. the homing missles can either take out all the tie fighters or the guns
June 14, 2010
there’s no match with X-Wing Alliance, that is a serious game! fuck the graphic… that was more technical, and much more difficult, a real space simulator, like Wing Commander Prophecy and other simulators that made history.
June 14, 2010
There is no good reason the Star Destroyer was not in the original N64 game. As another game on the N64 (Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire) had a massive space battle that involved a Star Destroyer. (Last level, Skyhook)
June 14, 2010
An ISD just cant be destroyed in that fashion. The Executor’s bridge shield was disabled after Rebel capital ships bombarded it with heavy fire. The sensor domes on top of the command structure were then destroyed, so point defence weaponry could not target the A-wing as it flew into the bridge.
Without some heavy support from capital ships, you cant expect to destroy an ISD with a few X-wings.
June 14, 2010
It really doesn’t sink in till 2:27 how unbelievably big a destroyer is.
Almost as unbelievable as the fact that you can kill it with six torps.
June 14, 2010
Copy that Wedge were going after the FighAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHters. Lol great video,
June 14, 2010
Yeah, that first encounter with a Star Destroyer was a little bit more difficult than doing battle with the 2 at the battle of Endor but I guess that’s because it had to focus on more targets than just you.
June 14, 2010
You guys are noobs, you ever played SWB one or two then you would now that the one on the bottom is sensors
June 14, 2010
would’nt the imperial star destroyer crush the blockade runner when it fwell to the planet?
June 14, 2010
dude they should have these of a new system but the last or bonus level should have you by yourself or with a squad take out a full star destroyer. No not this downgraded for balance and system support with this new game system like 360 or ps3 could have a fully armed ship with ties and multi cannons
that would be awesome
June 14, 2010
Good shooting! I hate those friggin’ tie-fighters.
June 14, 2010
gamecube
June 14, 2010
KDY ISD 72xs shield generators work as sensory and shielding, its ironic how the T-65 fitted laser cannons did more damage than the proton torps in this game even though the 72xs are protected by their own shields
June 14, 2010
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II But in 3rd one You can team up with someone on this level or any level for the matter. it’s 2 games in the 3rd game,
