This lightsaber is not as good as the Obi wan kenobi lightsaber.

The lightsaber hums when turned on.

However, it does NOT make a different sound when swinging in the air light the Obi wan version.

It also only changes sounds when you hit the hilt of the lightsaber but not the “blade.”

I would get a different version next time.

My boys each received one of these for Christmas, and they absolutely loved them! However, they are not very durable at all. I had to send one of them back because, after a couple days, it wouldn’t extend any more. They refunded my money, but then I had to reorder. My kids had a blast with them, and the idea is a good one, but the durability is a drawback.

I bought the Vader and Obi-Wan lightsabers for 2 boys (ages 5 and 8). They love them and play with them all the time. They were a little pricier on Amazon than other retailers but the convenience outweighed the difference for me.

Santa made my 4 and 5 year old boys very happy when they unwrapped their light sabers. They like the fact that they can push a button and have it popup. Many times the lights in the room get turned off as light sabers light up. We gone thru a few light sabers already, these are holding up great and seem well made. It helps that the boys know the house rules on duelling.

We have all four versions of these lightsabers and this one seems to be a favorite. It glows (red), hums (one sound in idle and another for contact), and is a spring blade that completely disappears into the hilt.

It’s a good weight and seems durable enough plus the batteries last quite a bit of time. The cons of this saber is that the light doesn’t glow very brightly and the spring could be dangerous for those who are standing in the way.

Otherwise, this toy is recommended by all three of my sons and their daddy.
