Review: Master Replicas Lightsaber Contruction Kit

The only place I’ve seen these lately is Ebay and Amazon, unfortunately. I hope Hasbro brings it back now that they’ve taken the line over. You could get three new lightsabers for $300! If you want a new saber in time for the convention just grab your favorite hilt from the current Hasbro line. The blade lighting will be better that way as well. Hasbro is also releasing new FX sabers that have removable blades this August. Check out the shop.starwars website.

Hey Son of Adam. This lightsaber kit looks awesome. I’m trying to see if I can find this kit online before I head to the Star Wars Celebration/Convention in Orlando this year in August. But for some reason I cannot seem to find this kit online anywhere. I found one on amazon.com, but it’s like $300. Any suggesstions where I can find this kit online at a not so high price? Cause I don’t think Radioshack is selling them anymore.

It was not supposed to be a used one I precise…

And the Luxeon is soooooo misaligned, that’s a shame, really… They talk about one year warranty on their website I hope they’ll honnor their word… :/

Not sure I’ll ask Ultrasabers anything for they really messed out an order of mine… Not the correct delivery and really terrible finitions on the hilt… They probably let a padawan do holes in the hilt with the machine and you can see around all the hesitations of an apprentice…

@alex83170, yes you are right. Better lighting and tubing can be applied. Additional metal parts would require costly custom machined parts. After you get your saber, consider becoming a member of the fx-sabers forum. It’s a great community of lighsaber collectors and custom builders. You should also check out, The Custom Saber Shop website. Hope that helps

Peace be upon you. Thanks for the positive feedbck. You would have to have this saber modified by Ultrasabers to make the blade removable. Some cool news is that Hasbro has announced that they will be releasing some FX-Sabers that have removable blades in late 2010

One question though… I’ve seen on another YouTube video that you can remove the tube from the hilt using an hex screw, is that a mod or is it possible out of the box?

The construction kit saber is the only one in the Master Replicas line to NOT have the string of LEDs in the blade. So you don’t have to worry about breaking LEDs when dueling with this one but I still would never duel at full speed -especially un-choreographed! I hope that helps, thanks for writing.

i got a question
see, i thought all of master replicas had the LED strip along the blade, and that’s why Ultrasabers offers the mail-in conversion, to make it more sturdy and duel ready…

so my question is:
can I duel full speed with it without the worries of a regular master replicas lightsaber about breaking the leds on the blade?

mine took 6 triple A’s

iv talked to you when i bought my saber long ago when it was in radio shack when it came out, and i still have it seald up still, and i checked some sites like amazon and others,, i got mine$50.00 -sence i never touched it and or opended it,, collecter price is now $200.00,, id open it but its like $50 to $200.. id love to see the seald collector price go up more

i brought this from toys rus and its only like 40 pounds now

Although I’ve only seen this one, I could never keep count of who the hell is dead and who is not! But I must admit some parts in the choreography were actually excellent and looked really cool and the music was more or less really good. Good job

Well, I’ve watched all three now and, while I agree this is still amateur and Ryan vs Dorkman is a lot better, I’ve also seen a ton of growth from the first film to this one. Still some things to continue improving on, but glad to see you guys are learning more and putting it to work for you. In short, I thought the choreography, music timing, and camera angles were getting much better. Keep learning!

I definitely think this has the potential to be great, you just need to work on the confidence of the movements in your fights, it looks too casual. You need to make us believe you really want to hurt each other. At the moment it just looks like exactly what the audience shouldn’t be thinking of it, a choreographed fight. I understand that it will be hard but I really think that this is what will take you to the next level. Anyway, that’s just my opinion.
