Maul was fuckin THE ultimate badass fighter! Why the hell Lucas decided to kill him off – by a nub like Obi-Wan no less! – is beyond me… When I think of what a dark jedi raised from birth to be 100% dedicated to his art looks and fights like, I imagine a character like Darth Maul. Absolutely no fear. He doesn’t waste time talking shit or giving speeches, he just gets the job done! Unfortunately when it comes to the script…Maul met his match…

Best scene in the entire film. The Phantom Menace was shit.

Naw, Yoda V.S Count Duku was way better.

Best duel in the series, no exceptions. Dooku vs Yoda (EP2), Anakin vs Kenobi (EP3), Luke vs Vader (EP5 &6)… This one tops them all!

Watching it now, the fight scene isn’t as impressive as I used to think it was

@turalyon71 people were astonished by this scene when the phantom menace came out deff in the top 3 star wars fights. It was really the only good part of the phantom menace

Darth Maul was so badass. I wish he wouldve came back with droid legs instead of random old dude Count Dooku.

@oorah It could be argued that since they are using a lot of energy to fight Darth Maul that they cant waste it in ny way. Good logic, and I think the same thing, but Star Wars video games spoil the fun lol!

Two major problems with this fight…
1) They show Qui Gonn and Obi Wan earlier in the movie using the force to increase their speed dramatically… Why the hell didn’t ObiWan use it here ?

2) That flip that Obi Wan does was badly cut or poorly choreographed.. Surely the editor could have seen this.. It took forever for Obi Wan to cut him down.

Overall one of the best fights in ALL of star wars.

Darth maul had the high ground like Obi Wan did (when he fought anakin) in Episode 3 yet Darth Maul died.
