As a seller who does NOT gouge our customers I feel it important to explain why these sets become SO……… expensive. LEGO themselves LIMIT the production AND the distribution of these sets, especially to small retailers. They also give a LIMITED run and usually stores like toys r us will get these first. They sell at a low price to move them, but once the shipment is sold, thats it. Smaller sellers pay up to 30 % MORE for each set so they can make them available for their customers. Add to that the fees to sell and shipping costs. LEGO sets hold value and their value increases VERY quickly which is why you will see prices rise. YES some do greatly overprice and others just enough to cover their costs to obtain the sets for the customer. Bottom line, This is a fun, large set with great mini figures. It will hold its value and be loved for years to come. You can also ADD smaller sets to it to build on the HOTH theme. Shop around and buy from a trusted seller.Enjoy this great set

This set is great, I only hope that more sets like this and the Cloud city set come out soon. It’s easy to put togeter, and looks great with the rest of the Star Wars line of Legos!

This set was extremely hard to find to buy. Lego always pushes the imagination. My son will sit for hours and create. The star wars line is very cool. The only thing I would have improved with this set is the durability of the set after it is built. The pieces seperate very easily, sometimes falling apart in the middle of play. Other than dealing with tears of frustration when the toy fell apartLego Star Wars Hoth Rebel Base 7666, this set is cool.

While it might be true Lego charges the major retailers less than the smaller ones, it is also true there are a ton of guys who sell on this site and on others who flock to Toys-R-Us and buy up the stock at a cheaper price, then sell it higher here. This has been going on for years. There’s no guarantee, unless you ask them directly, if they are simply reselling an item they bought at a larger store or if they are reselling an item they bought directly from Lego. The Lego price gauging on Amazon is unsupportable. There is no way this toy is worth $100+. That price is a complete joke.
