Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3UQO7ZB4Q172 This is a brief video showing you the assembled Darth Vader Tie Fighter. My son’s love it, it was easy to put together, but it does come apart easily. I hope you find the video helpful.

My 8 year old thoroughly enjoyed the process of putting this together. It was a great learning experience on how to follow detailed instructions and the cause and effect of not doing so. The down side is that the little pieces don’t stay together well and it can be very frustrating to pretend play with it. If you are looking for something to challenge someone who is creative and likes to build and create something new all the time, it’s a great toy. If you are looking for something for a Star Wars fan who likes to imagine and act out their own battles and scenes, stick with a non-Lego toy.

Kid’s review: This lego set is full of pros and cons.

Pros: easy and fun to build, cool minifigure, awesome lightsaber storage, non flickfire missiles, and adjustable wings!

Cons: very flimsy wings, unsturdy connections.

On the left and right in the middle of the set, there is a 2×2 flat light gray piece on each end. In the extra pieces that come with the set, there are two 1×2 light gray pieces that can be placed next to the 2x2s for extra sturdiness. This set is better for being displayed on a bookshelf than for playing. Hope this review was helpful.

I got this set for my birthday, and I was thrilled because I had really wanted a Darth Vader figure for my Lego collection. This set comes with one awesome Darth Vader figure that has a very detailed printed head and torso. He also has a black cape and a fantastic helmet. He is equipped with a silver lightsaber hilt with a red blade. The TIE Fighter itself is a fairly complex build and when finished it looks very fast and intimidating. The TIE Fighter is equipped with an opening cockpit with a seat and controls for Darth Vader. The ship is outfitted with two flick-missiles (one on each side of the cockpit) that have a mechanism to shoot them. The Fighter also has a holder for Vader’s lightsaber behind the cockpit. Well, here are the basics of the set:

The good things

Darth Vader

Lightsaber

TIE Fighter

Mechanism to shoot the flick-missiles

Lightsaber holder

Opening cockpit

Printed cockpit control piece

Printed windshield piece

The bad things

Stickers

Flick-missiles

Cockpit needs more controls

Vader can not fit in the cockpit with his cape on

Over all, I highly recommend this set.

This set is a great recreation of the ship seen in the original Star Wars movie (A New Hope). It features a workable cockpit hatch, firing missiles, and fold-able wings. The Darth Vader figure included is also spot-on with a removable mask and lightsaber. He sits well in the cockpit. Very nice!

A word of caution, though, in that some have complained that the wings separate too easily. Nevertheless, I think this is a good opportunity to teach children to handle their toys with proper care. Plus, it gives them patience!
