It probablly was one of the best however, the ACOG blows it out of the water. The SUSAT is great don’t get me wrong but, the ACOG is perfect for spotting Taliban who shoot from about 800meters away.

@grobo11
The susat is still one of if not the best sighting system for an assult rifle, i was the best in the world i dunno about now since there are alot of after market sights but then again these are after market and the sa80 came with it standard

The rifles in sevice now being issued to soldiers on the front line in Afghanistan have a RIS handuard and ACOG sight. The ones we see guards/ reserves and other soldiers use still have the normal SUSAT.
June 16, 2010
@grobo11 Actually, because of gordon brown not willing to pay for enough for the a2 its less acurate than the Steyer and the a2 does not have an ACOG, it has a SUSAT, the new sharpshooter rifle does however have an ACOG

@pezza2k8pezza No need to be offensive, the Irish do actually use a different weapon to the british, its called the Steyer AUG and it is among the best of the bulpup rifles in the world.
June 16, 2010
err no they dont have a better weapon they use the same and there a bunch of drunken cunts fuck you
June 17, 2010
sa80 a2 is much better than the steyr AUG. It’s a good rifle don’t get me wrong but compared to the sa80 a2 with the new ACOG sight and RIS handguard it doesn’t equal up.
