@4ppelkrumelgebak I think any rigid classification of Grievous will have to wait until after they’ve finally made up their mind about what’s still valid canon and what’s not, because right now, the clone wars era is a mess of contradiction and inconsistency. Grievous HAS defeated Jedi Masters before (easily in the first CW cartoon) and in Labyrinth of Evil he even stood his ground against Mace.

@4ppelkrumelgebak There are a bit of inconsistencies as well. Previously, the way Asajj Ventress addressed the General when they met up was more on equal footing, when in reality, he’s supposed to be higher ranking and much stronger than her. He simultaneously beat her and Durge at the same time with ease, so she’s quite bold to be speaking to him in such a manner.

Yes, Grievous has his cowardly moments, and yes he’s a strategist first and a warrior second (the battle wasn’t won, they just wanted to get away w/ the DNA). But pay attention @1:42-1:46; he believed Kenobi had fallen and WASN’T coming back up. He made the all too common assumption “No one could’ve survived that fall”, he wasn’t fleeing ‘cuz he was afraid he’d get his ass kicked. Besides, he was winning! He just thought his work was finished, let’s make an exit at the proper time. That’s all!

Ah, looks like the General has learned a couple new tricks after the last battle with Kenobi. Actually used brute force during the battle, which caught Obi-Wan offguard. Bad news, Grevious is still not strong enough to beat Obi-Wan.
