I have YEARS of experience making prop Lightsabers with Plumbing parts, and you are suggesting pretty much the best cheap materials out there. People argue that using PVC pipe for the blade is better, but PVC pipe is heavy and it wobbles, so really Wooden dowels are the best choice. The only thing I would suggest is using colored Duct-tape on the blade rather than Paint. Cause Paint often chips off. But yeah, this Lightsaber prop tutorial is the best one out there right now =D I’m not kidding.

to glue the buttons on use super glue then put gorilla glue around it.

Would a person be able to use those to fight against a FX Light Saber. I am in a group in college called the MSU order and we learn how to do a choreographed light saber battle, and i would realy like to have a blade to use. so i don’t have to borrow. The cheapest FX light saber i can buy is like 50 or 60 dollers. But if that would work the same that would be awsome.

NICE TUTORIAL!! I guess that’s another way you can make your own lightsaber prop out of plumbing parts. The lightsabers STILL look nice even when made of PVC pipes and not metal.

Btw, Hearing that *clack* sound, when editng, when the swords collide actually helps you out when editing lightsaber sound effects ( I have experience with this kind of sound editing)
