Between Light and Darkness

By Top Star Wars Toys, October 22, 2010 Star Wars Videos

To watch this film in HIGH DEFINITON with an ORIGINAL SCORE by MORTEN MALVEK, please click the link below. www.youtube.com To watch other Star Wars fanfilms such as this and download this movie, click here: www.kuatengineer.webs.com Back in February, we began shooting a Star Wars fan film called Redemption. Unfortunately, we never got as far as making what you see here. So, in April, I decided to enter it into the sixth annual Lightsaber Choreography Contest but it was disqualified for lacking actual saber choreography. So that explains the LCC VI logo in the beginning. Personally though, I think this is the most intense acting we’ve ever done physically and emotionally. So now I present to you the renamed Star Wars fan film… Between Light and Darkness.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

A lightsaber battle that takes place within the soul of a young man who must choose between his Godly nature and his sinful nature. This video won second place in the “lightsaber Choreography Competition 4″ on “theforce.net” fan films forums. I will upload a completed version soon. The music is by Hans Zimmer from the “Mission Impossible 2″ soundtrack. Tracks: Bare Island & Injection.

Nice tie-on cape fag. Most intense acting physically and emotionally huh, I think that is a sign, never act again, ever, for the love of everything holy, never act again. As far as story, Jedi and (?Not a Sith) in a druken bar fight in the middle of nowhere, STOP, just stop.

if i was a jedi i would my fist only when necessary (but i would use the force to make my punches stronger)

Kris makes a good bad guy, for sure. Sean is really good at… getting beat up… and playing the good guy. There’s a lot of emotion in his voice near the end. The music is fantastic! You did a fantastic job of capturing the true essence of the dark side: rage and self-destruction. This was captured beautifully when Norian missed those punches near the last bit. So much character and emotion. Such a triumph over other fan films. Bravo!

But never would you use the Force against someone you’re trying to save, especially if it’s your brother.

ccburgett

October 22, 2010

the setting should have been darker to go with the mood

October 22, 2010

very nice, i like the look and feel, but the sabers are a bit thick trey to use a smaller thing to fight with as sabers 55

October 22, 2010

Ok. I don’t know about anyone else but I if were a Jedi Master I would NEVER resort to plain common fist fighting. The Force carries it’s users above that level of combat.

good video!
excellent music, great story, very good filming.
acting could’ve been better though. Still, I’m not complaining.

This was beautifully done. Very emotional, it kind of follows the philosophy that should a Jedi solve all his problems with a lightsaber, he will ultimately turn to the dark side. For it is meant as a symbol of the order not as a weapon, only the sith see it that way. A jedi should seek peace through compassion and understanding. Till the end, severus is a jedi through through.

Says the guy looking for these videos. oh yeah, you completely showed him.

October 22, 2010

Nice fist fight. I’m glad to see the jedi/sith fights away from lightsabers every now and then. Very emotional. Nice acting. It was a little awkword, but I think it was only that way because of how real the situation was. So, interesting concept, for once, the bad guy comes back to the light! WOOT! Though I have to say, you guys did that so well that I’d like to see the battle with the sith and watch Serverus’s death scene. Lol nice post-credit humor.

Sin is an excuse to escape responsibility. It is a man made aspect to view morality as negotiable.

October 23, 2010

That was awesome!…Even though I’m not particularly religious. Internal conflicts on the maximum level…a semi-external internal battle between good and evil.
Me like.
One thing stands out, though: a few of the shots were missing the lightsaber effects. Why?

@ArnyTheChamp alright i see what your saying.

ArnyTheChamp

October 23, 2010

@Angloentertianment Why is it against 3PO’s programming to impersonate a deity? The ewoks thought he was a god. Thats a religion.. Gungans have Sacred Place. Han, Grand Moff Tarkin and that loud-mouth Admiral on the 1st Death Star who got force choked both referred to the whole ‘The Force’ deal as a ‘religion’… A CENTRAL THEME in all 6 movies… Star Wars is not as free of religion as one may think… Just think of it as this Jedi believing somethin different 2 wat he was taught in the temple

ACJP89

October 23, 2010

@ArnyTheChamp You’re right, you shouldn’t judge people coz of their choice. I don’t personally beleive, but I still accept other people’s opinions nd religions. But this isn’t what Youtube is about and I don’t know about you lot, but I’m getting kinda sick of the “religious discrimination” this and “racism” that. I mean cmon…

HEIGHTSIXFIVE

October 23, 2010

Aw man! you had a few clips without the effects. But the fighting was awsome! 4.5 stars to you.

Angloentertianment

October 23, 2010

@ArnyTheChamp Ok first of all the only reason i said it was because Star Wars has nothing to do with religion so ya star wars is atheist, i am NOT athiest i just don’t agree with religion. I mean think if Lucas made Star Wars with a religious backround today, I can tell you right now a lot of people, Religious or NOT, wouldn’t like it, you know why? because that’s not what Star Wars is about. If you’re gonna try and make a Lightsaber duel, even if your religious or not, don’t put religion in it

To all who say “It could have done without the ‘religious’ stuff” … Its how HE chose to do HIS movie, and HE wanted to serve God with it… Whatever u believe, go make a duel wit that in it and then realise how rude it sounds wen others say 2 u, “should leave that stuff out”. Honestly, the nerve. He didnt make the video for u, u came and watched it. What if a stranger walked into ur house off the street, stood in ur kitchen and said, “should do something bout that wallpaper, its terrible” ?

ArnyTheChamp

October 23, 2010

@Angloentertianment He isn’t, he’s mixing it with Christianity. Theres a BIG difference. Doin it 4 the glory of God, good on ya mate.. and man, thats wat this particular duel is about, the conflict every Christian has to choose between what they want and what God wants. Thats how he chose to make his duel, who r u 2 say dont do that? Wat do u believe? If ur an atheist and u made an atheist themed duel, wat would u think if some1 said please leave atheism and Star Wars separate… Its his movie.

Angloentertianment

October 23, 2010

good vid, but please don’t mix religion in with Star Wars, just keep then seperate

Ge1Ri4

October 23, 2010

The solution to such inner conflict is not “killing oneself”, but rather loving oneself. One must accept and embrace oneself wholly, just as one is.

Terrex123

October 23, 2010

Actualy Jedimasterjon1 you are confused. Christians may kill in the defense of themselves or others. God has never denied the fact that violence is a necessary fact of life and society. Infact there have been entire genocides that were commanded by God. If you are a Christian then you know that violence is always a last resort, but if you refuse to commit violence and not do the right thing then you are sinning.

Tabygrl

October 23, 2010

I like… This is a great video for Christians. Very uplifting.

@Jedimasterjon1 you could always use some whiskey and some beer to cure that problem….
