Anakin (Red Saber) vs Obi in HD from Reign of the Dark Side

@0danllew because right after that shot the movie cuts hard to the Yoda Palpatine fight. I’m trying to find a way to work that shot back in without it looking like a hard cut. I liked that shot too and wanted to keep it. But there is no real clip to put after it to make it look right. Arms locked struggling, then in the next shot their arms are in completely diffferent positions. No matter what clip of them fighting i tryed to use after. Gonna keep trying tho to make something work.

Why did you take out the scene where Obi & Anakin are holding each other’s arms at 2;00 , that scene was Powerful.

@BobGarcia1974 I loved that lucas kept that in him that since that while they’res great good he still wanted to take over the universe and aparantly he didn’t let go of that thought until death.

@BobGarcia1974 Actually you are one reason why he had redemption at the end it was signifying all that good everyone mentioned was they’re and lucas actually had alot mroe planned to make him sympathetic that got used here but he was made a simple bad guy.It showed why vader did what he did and fell in line with who he was and even then he still wanted to control the universe so it’s not like he wasn’t evil.

@mayhem9024 I very much understand what was happening. I also understood that I didnt agree with how Vaders turn was delt with. Hmm ok, let me kill everyone I know to save my wife. Please understand that Vader in the next 3 films is the main bad guy. Bad guy… not guy we’re supposed to feel bad for. So this edit of the movie trys to better lay the tracks for a guy who made his choice also based on his thoughts that if people dont agree, they should be made too.

@BobGarcia1974 You call it wooden but aparantly many found it great and the only scenes trashed were the ones where he and padme tried to sound like lovers that was about it but haters blew it out of perportion.You just don’t understand what was happening and because of that i don’t think you’d be able to do a villain like vader.This made him cold and unfeeling when he wasn’t meant to be that way and in the process took out a pwoerful momment.

@BobGarcia1974 Vader was never meant to be cold it’s the tragedy of darth vader as lucas put it and you basiclly destroyed that.And that’s the point this is the turning point he’s become vader they’re friendship is destoryed I mean obi wan was ready to forgive he woud have talked but this coupled with pademe’s death truely shows “wow this dude has gone insane”.

@BobGarcia1974 No it isn’t it adds to the emotion and they’res a reason why some people have a problem with it and most of all i saw people in my theater give twice the attention when he said that because it truely showed this is darth vader this is who he is now.That stuff is they’re sure but for someone whose seen the films it’s truely sad hell you can see 2 of them and feel bad or the beginning because it’s such a step down.

@mayhem9024 also I know you said no offence. But saying that I dont understand filmmaking is very unfair. There is no hard core cookie cutter layout when it comes to all filmmaking. Lucas decided he needed to tell the audience how to feel thru wooden dialogue rather than let the story show us.

@mayhem9024. At this point in the film Anakin has assisted in killing everyone in the Jedi Temple, the seperatist and has now tryed to kill Obiwan. The line “I hate you” is pointless at this time. Unless you need to have the film hold you by the hand and remind you how screwed up Anakin is. Besides, toss the Vader suit on with the Vader voice and tell me if that wouldnt be a silly thing for Vader to say. Crying Vader is not in this edit. Cold Vader is.

@BobGarcia1974 then you don’t understand filmmaking no offense but that line ws perfect and it truely captured the mood i mean we get he hates him but the way he says it makes it truely set in how far he’s gone and the insanity of it all and the tragedy.removing this is like removing scarfaces little friend line you get he’s killing them so it doesn’t matetr huh?.

taking out the parts when they talk was a good idea! good job on the editing, only one part I saw blue was at 0:40 when you see the reflection of the lightsabers on the glass in the background, but thats no biggy, but just saying.

Also: I think almost ALL of the dialogue edits are perfect. Two opinions: I think you should leave in Obi-wan’s ‘Don’t try it!’. I think it sort of highlights Obi-wan. He HAS to kill Vader, but he also loves him. He knows what will happen if Vader jumps, and he as much as Vader needs to die, he doesnt want to kill him.

I think the ‘I hate you’ line would work great if it was edited so that it contrasts Obi’s ‘I loved you’. Also, when Anakin says that, he just has this fantastic look of rage.

The white bloom when the Force Push’s collide is weird. Do something different there.

At 2:46 it looks like the sabers are both blue.

At 3:19, remove the scenes that show Anakin on the wire. Without the stupid mid-air clash, it makes no sense for him to be on a wire. It should just be Obi-wan swinging away, the structure falling, Obi-wan standing victori-oh wait, Anakin runs and leaps onto a droid.

3:39, looks like both sabers are blue.

Also, I believe some Sith did use different colours other than red, and although it would be frowned upon because of its implications, I doubt the Jedi had a definitive rule prohibiting the use of red crystals.

Personally, I like the saber being red for this fight. The only other time these two go at it again is when they are old men, so seeing the ‘appropriately coloured’ sabers go at it in their prime is an awesome sight to see. As far as the comments from the die-hards, Obi Wan could easily have replaced the crystal with a blue one again before giving it to Luke later on. 720p is HD, just the first step and old-technology version of it. 1080 is now the standard.

This is a good re-edit, I didn’t think any of the dialogue during the fight was necessary.

Yeah I agree. It’s supposed to be on the very edge of light and dark, with almost as much risk to the user as its victim. But then they didn’t show the shatterpoint either, and I’d think Mace would use it at the first opportunity

You should review Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight for the Wii. And maybe Dragon Blade: Reign of Fire, also for Wii.

Dude, the sequel gets worse, the story is patheticly short and ridiculously forced, they switched the controls around alot, and the choice endings are just stupid or confusing. The graphics get even worse, in the beginning, starkiller never stops frowning. However, I loved the addition of the black and silver saber crystals in the story.

I wish I never bought this game. This game is so short!!

Have you tried any cheat codes for this game? Many cheat codes let you play the game as someone else like luke skywalker and han solo.

@maxchamullento 4 days isnt that short…I mean how many non rpg games are longer? all the mario games for the wii are beatable in under 4 days.

TFU2 for Wii does not look good at all. Even worse than this game. At least this one was worth a rental…

Don’t like, don’t view, simple as that. I rarely agree with his ratings (some I think are to high, others like this I think are to low, although I do play 360 over wii) but I think he brings up good points and talks about all the right stuff. Good reviews not so good ratings. Now I have that out the way back to the point, even if I don’t like the ratings I do enjoy the reviews, if I didn’t I would stop watching, why watch this if you have already watched some and didn’t like them?

From what I’ve heard the wii version of the game was sort of a half version as appose to the “full” xbox version, just like with the ghostbusters game, the xbox version got a graphic tune up and diffrent style, I noticed the health bar and cut scene where star killer is recruited were very diffrent. Not to mention the fact the custum screens and special destuctions were diffrent. Some aspects actually look better on the wii but I think I’ll stick with the 360 version

heres the thing about the graphics, this is actually the PSP version (or PS2 version i think) ported to the wii and they uped the resolution a lil bit, the graphics would have been way better if they built it up from scratchor hell porting it from the HD consoles might have looked better

I own the ps2 version of this and i so wish that the developers put a black lightsaber color in the game. The ps3 and 360 versions have it but i dont own a 360 or ps3.
